Hi all, I think I have managed to buy a climbing rose that only flowers once! ARHHHHHHHh!!!
I cant remember the name of it unfortunately, but it is doing really well, nearly 6 feet tall now. It flowers at the beginning of the season, beautiful white slightly smelly blooms and looks gorgeous over my arch. Its in my blue and white garden. So what I would like is either to take that one out and replace it with a climber that, blooms throughout the season, smells wonderful, and if possible resistant to some of the nasties! Does anyone have any suggestions? OR I could maybe pop something else in to climb up the rose and bloom white for the rest of the season. Any ideas? Then I guess I have the dilemma of where to put a rose that flowers once! ha ha ha ha Many thanks , Sandra |

Perle d'azure
star of india Hi Sandra, White flowers are never very frolific for some reason Duchess of edinburgh I think is a white clematis but a really weedy plant. what you could do is grow a white shrub rose up your arch taking it up a bit at a tiem & it will frame it nicely then you could leave the hips on for the birds/autumn colour ( not really blue or white though) Failing that there are some stunning blue (ish)clematis Perle D'azure General Sikorsky viticella group flowers later in the year Etoile Violet - dk Purple Polish spirit Prince Charles Venosa Violacea
