Lovely!

And is it the classic cream and purple or one of the fancier red ones?

The classic cream and purple passionflower Terry. I fell in love with them when I was young helping out at a market garden where they had an enormous passionflower plant growing inside across the top of the big greenhouse roof. It was spectacular.

I dont have one right now but grew a large one in London a few years ago at my house down there.

It will bear fruits later in the year, I believe they are inedible but they do look nice....

I am happy with the flowers. I love them and there are now two buds. If only we could have some nice warm sunny weather to help them open.

I always wanted a Passion Flower in the garden, I planted and nurtured one which died without flowering. Now I have the most enormous and brilliant display which has grown over the fence from next door!

I thought it was just me ... lots of green growth on Passion Flower, but no flowers, not even buds yet.

Hi Solitary Bee! Welcome to our forum!

Like you there is loads of shiny green growth on my passionflower but after that first flower there have been no more. There are flower buds but they just are not opening - it's so frustrating!!

The Passiflora needs so much sun, that could have been a problem this year, particularly if not on a South facing wall. Hope for an Indian Summer

Ahh.... so if they need sun..... how come mine is covered in flower in a wind tunnel beside the house, in a narrow (6" wide) raised bed that gets little water, on an east facing fence which gets little or no direct light as the house wall is only 6' away?

Give the plants time - as they get older so they flower better. My plant (triffid) is now three years old, trust me they get better with age!

Unbelievably after only one flower on my passion flower plant all summer this morning there are four open! It's October and it's cold - amazing!
