Question Any Ideas

Hi All,
Any ideas as to what this plant/flower is,????

It has sprung up on a long stem, and broken out into what you see, i have a feeling it may be some relation to the onion family, but am unsure, so will have to leave to the more knowing people on the site,
thanks in advance for any replies, cheers stupo.

Looks as if it could be one of the decorative Alliums, any chance of a look at the leaves Stupo?

Oh yes David, it does look like a decorative Allium and aren't they really pretty?? I might buy some! The only 'decorative' Allium I have known is when a leek plant throws up a flower stalk!!

Pottertons Nursery - Allium siculum

Hi "Mr T"
The stem that you see, appears to come from a "Leek" shaped plant that is surrounded,, so a little awkward to get a snap, but spot on again with your answers.
I intend to take a better pic with a white background, (mrs stupo has better camera) you will then see this most elegant flower in all its glory, the colours are quite stunning.
cheers again stupo.

If you like the decorative Alliums check your local garden centre in the autumn. The sunburst types are stunning.
