Could it be Ena Harkness. I have a rose called Ena Harkness and it is a thornless variety. It is a very dark red with a great perfume. It is an old variety.

Another thornless rose is Zepherine Drouhin. Smell is like turkish delight - yummy! Can't help with a deep red one but be warned - I bought what was supposed to be a vibrant orange rose from Woolworth and it turned out to be red!
