Default Patio Rose

Hi, guys. Not sure whether this should be here or on "The Flower Pot". I'm going to try a patio rose in a container. Do I prune them like a normal rose?

Hi Cajary, I have two patio roses and this is what I do, hope this helps. In Spring I take out any dead or weak shoots, and remove any shoots growing in the middle and any rubbing against each other. Then I cut back the other healthy shoots to about 4 inches from the ground. I then feed and mulch after pruning, well rotted manure is good, and I gather you are quite a expert on this ahem! T o encourage a 2nd flowering nip off any fading flowers. Feed again in Late June or early July. I use Top Rose. I also spray each fortnight with Tomato Feed, in the evenings when the sun goes down, and I also make sure they never dry out. This was the advice I was given when I bought mine some years ago, and they are still flourishing. I hope this helps!

Hi rb. Thanks, I'll try it that way. I've got enough manure, I'm still digging it out of my ears
I'll probably use Miracle-Gro intead of the Tomato Feed because I use it at work and can get it free Thanks again.
