Hi Igorina, I have grown honeysuckle in a pot to cover an old shed. Place the obelisk in the pot first, then put your honeysuckle about 15-30 cm from the support, to allow enough growing room for developing stems. The stems should be tied to their support with strong, stretchy materials that won't cut into growing branches. (old stockings or tights) It can become very invasive if it is not pruned back hard in winter to prevent a build-up of woody growth. Avoid planting near shrubs or small trees, which it may climb and strangle. Try to plant in full sun.
Light pruning for the first couple of years until it gets establised, then you can cut back hard. Once establisehed it only needs moderate watering, unless the summer is very dry. Use a balanced fertilizer at the beginning of the growing season, and one in the middle of the blooming season. Plant honeysuckle in early Spring, once frosts have gone. Mulch the plant with a heavy covering of leaves to keep roots warm in winter and to conserve moisture on hot summer days. The flashy and fragrant flowers that the honeysuckle produce will attract bees, and butterflies, all summer long, and after flowering it will produce fruits that are blue black which attracts many type of son birds. Hope this helps.
