Default Melon has all male flowers

Hi, I have three lovely Melon plants with loads of flowers on but no females.

Is there some technique to get females to grow?

Wendy.

In answer to my own question and in case anyone else needs to know.

To get female flowers you have to take out the growing tip after about 4 leaves then the females will grow on the stems that come off the side shoots that it produces.

I think also that the females will come as the weather warms. many curcubits tend to start with just male flowers a bit like a warm up act.
