Gooseberries In Containers

I know this is the wrong time of the year to be moving gooseberry bushes but I have no choice. I am going to dig up the gooseberry bushes and plant them in containers. What size container do I need to buy? Also how big do you think the root ball will be?

At least 25 litre but 40 litre would be better.

depends on how tall it is but I would expect it to be an 18-20" pot.

Blimey, that is a big container. Any suggestions for the type of compost that I would be best using?
