Default cherries can i ripen in house

hi, my cherries are starting to go red and i wondered if i can pick them and let them ripen in the house,,,last year i woke up one morning and saw a swarm of birds making off with most of the tree,,i wanted some for myself this year..thanks

I imagine you can - as we let ones that we purchase ripen a little sometimes if they're not quite ready. But........they will taste so much better if you can ripen them on the tree (though I know what you mean about the birds!) Can you net off some of the tree or is it too large to do that?
