Default Climbing fruit?

Just got my first flat with a garden, got a fence that needs covering. Was just going to cover it in ivy or something but if i can get fruit or something out of it why not.
Fence is about 12ft long and 7ft high.
Any suggestions?

I think you`d be better off with the Blackberry, much easier to look after and prune.

Make sure it`s a thornless one, to save the tears at harvest time.

Thorns don`t stop the birds and squirrels.

Go for either Merton Thornless or Oregan Thornless.

Another question if you dont mind lol
Will this stay on the fence all year round or does it die back at all?

You`ll cut out the stems that have fruited, but you`ll have new stems on the fence. When it comes down to it you would be growing domesticated brambles.

Thanks again, i discovered i already have wild (thorney) blackburries growing in the garden, you think i should just leave them, replace or add to?

Your choice. I personally would get rid of the wild ones and plant the ones I can control.
