Default Pumpkins = epic fail :(

So i planted my 4 pumpkin plants outside maybe a week ago, 3 of the 4 have totally died and shrivelled up one is looking okish, still standing strong but colours have dulled a little and it hasn't grew at all since put outside.
i still have 2 backup plants inside that are getting pretty big now
anyone have a clue what went wrong and what i should do different with my others?

It is far, far to early to be planting them outside as they absolutely hate cold winds and frosts. Keep them at least in a greenhouse or coldframe till the end of May. Even then, give them cloche protection for the first two or three weeks. I will be sowing mine in the next few days.
