Question help! kind of?

Hi,
I have lemon tree in my conservatory, with some 30+ lemons already on the way everything seems to be going well, but, and this is where I say I kind of have a problem, one patch of 5-6 leaves is constantly sticky as can be - well like sticky lemon juice! Not a big problem but being new to fruit trees just wondering why its doing it on just the one part of the plant. The leaves are literally as sticky as can be! Like dried out fruit juice?
P.S. All lemonade recipes much appreciated!!!
Can post photos if need be
Thanks
Dickie

Hi Dickie, sticky leaves on citrus plants is usually caused by scale insects. It's the honeydew secretion from the insects that causes the stickiness. The insects are green to brown lumps or bumps that don't move and are normally found under the leaves but can be on the stem. The eggs for the next generation are underneath the scale. This product is supposed to eliminate them.

Default thanks

thanks for the replies - sorry for delay in response, been busy in the garden. I've checked the leaves and there doesn't seem to be any signs of aphids - Lesley I will check under the leaves/stems for them tonight and try your recommendation if they are present.
Thanks

Default yes!

Thanks for the advice I've checked the "problem" stem and indeed it's covered in Brown lumps! Cut it off as it was the highest stem anyway (with no fruit) - still a few brown devils on the bottom of the other leaves , so some work to do as yet. Will let you know how I get on - will try and post photos tomorrow as I now have nearly 40 lemons on the go from one plant!!!!! G&T anyone? (Although strictly speaking a true G&T should be served with lime not lemon!)
