Hi Shaun,
Like the "Boss Lady" says, usual rule of thumb is to feed when the first trusses form.

However, to make sure that i have a good rootball on my plants, when my seedlings are potted on to 3-4 inch pots, i use a "very weak" solution of high phosphate feed at every watering.

The "N-P-K" scale can be found on most artificial foodstuffs for the garden,
General Tonics, usually have the same amount (% of each ingredient) eg, 15-15-15, Nitrogen, Phostegen & Potassium.

However, my rootball feeder is 15-30-15, which gives a real boost to where it is needed, establishing a good root system, which in turn, then helps the developing plant to "Grow Better".
I believe, the better the root, the healthier the plant More root, = more feeding stations.
Just think how quick we would grow if we had 3 mouths instead of 1

When the plants are in their final positions and the time is right, i change to a "High Content" potassium feed to enhance the developing fruits.

Here i go again, "Babbling" on
off for a glass now, been at it since 1;30am this morning, cya later all,,stupo

Hi Paul, that makes perfect sense!! What brand of feed are you using? Digindeep was asking about superphospate which doesn't contain nitrogen but a slightly higher amount of phosphorus than the one you use at 0:17:5.

Hi Lesley,
The feeds i use are common, but they still have the 3 main ingredients present, just enhanced for the particular job i require from them.
couple of pics showing the info on the sides of the boxes.
The first 1 is my "Root Builder"

The 2nd, my "Fruit Developer",,

I do believe that you can buy feeds that are a little more "Selective" in what elements you require, you will usually find the info somewhere on the box, in similar format to the above.

hope the above was of some use??cheers stupo
