Default Blackcurrant question

I have a blackcurrant bush which has quite a few berries on but they have been there for quite sometime and are still green, is this supposed to happen or have i put it to shady a place.? It has afternoon sun through a trellis ?

You will need to give them time to ripen. Eventually, they will turn almost black.

My whitecurrants are green also...they have been for a few weeks now too, and no sign of turning cream. They are in a full sun spot too.

Don think you can go far wrong with currants - just a matter of patience.

I have around 10 blackcurrant bushes and all berries are still green.

Mine may take even longer than you people in England because I live in cold scotland although was nice and warm today, long may it last.

My redcurrants are slowly changing, pics on our latest blog entry, we've got them caged to protect from birds so hopefully we'll get a half decent crop this year. We've still got last year's measly amount in the freezer, wasn't enough to do anything with!
