Default Raspberries and not harvesting?

Hi, We have planted our raspberries and I have noticed some flowers are showing. I understand that for the first year its not best to harvest the fruit. So, what do I with it instead? Do I leave the fruit on there to rot and fall off? Should I pick the flowers off so they dont turn into fruit?

Any help would be really appreciated.
Katie

I picked the ones that formed fruit. My raspberry's are in the second year and they are producing quite a lot of raspberry's at the moment.

My raspberries are still fruiting.
When should I cut them back?
Should I wait until it dies back or should I just prune it now and lose the extra fruit?

Gooseberry advice please!
Last year my bush was devastate by the little green devils(?Fly larvae)
I managed to save the bush and it has regrown lots of new shoots.
How do I tell which to prune?
I intend to cover the soil and plant with a fly mesh early in spring and have a bottle of bug buster to hand .
Any advice welcome.

I assume that you are talking about the gooseberry sawfly caterpillars. I would let the birds eat the caterpillars and then use a spray if the birds do not deal with the problem. See this page for pruning advice :- gooseberry
