Default Alpine strawberries flowering already!

My alpine strawberries grown from seed last year and planted into a hanging basket, whch then survived the winter and 2 ft of snow are now flowering like mad! Is this normal in spring?

Hi Nicola
I once tried to grow alpine strawberries from seed but i was unsuccessful with them, i am also quite amazed that strawberries of all types seem to be flowering at this time of year but i am sure they know what they are doing, lol

My Alpines seem to have gone mad! I wonder if I'll get fruit from all the flowers.

Hi Nicola, I don't see why not. Mine have also gone mad and 90% of the flowers have set fruit.
