Default Gooseberry's...seeds or cutting????

Hi everyone just a quick question. My father-in-law has a Gooseberry bush in his garden that is producing loads of red hairless Gooseberry's.
I would love to try and grow my own.
My question is would it be best to grow my own plant/bush by taking a cutting or by using the seeds?
If by the seed method is there anything i should do to the seeds before germinating? Do they need drying out first and if so what's the best way of doing it?
Any other advice will be very much appreciated.
Thank's in advance
Dave.

I have had good success taking root cuttings on wild Goosegogs to spread around the woods, I expect the same applies here but not sure.
