After a full day in the garden yesterday, I have decided to move the raspberries.
My question is this: after they have fruited when is the best time to move them? |

If the raspberries are summer fruiting don't forget to keep this years new growth intact when you move them. This year's new growth will bear the fruit next year. When you have moved them to their new site tie the new growth onto straining wire or some sort of support.
Should they be Autumn fruiting, move to new site and cut all growth down to about 2" in Feb/Mar. Last edited by bantiekeeper; 13-07-2011 at 04:53 PM. |

I'm just finishing my new raised bed which I'm really excited about - lol!! I want to move my blackcurrant bush into one corner but I think I'll leave it a couple more weeks - any thoughts?
I'm also going to get a few raspberry canes I've been looking at Thompson & Morgan and just don't knoiw what to get any suggestions/recommendations. Jess |
