Default Reputation points advice

Hi all

Forgive me...I think I have been a bit thick (No surprise there then!)

I have just realised I have aquired 11 reputation points (?) . Having just read up on the subject should I be leaving reputation points to people who have given me advice?

Anyone experienced out there who is in the know please advise.... and most sorry to anyone who has given me advice but not been 'reputed.'

look forward to hearing from you.

regards
Eddie Spud

Hi Marmite

Maybe you are minus points ...but not from me, I like your jokes - HONEST

I looked at my 'User CP' from the top menu and it said 'Latest reputation received' and further on it said '11 point(s) total.' but I don't know where from

Still cant see what you see. So no body likes my jokes I am off to cry in my garden with a cup of cocoa on a slug hunt. Maybe I dont get any because I use slug pellet, just the one pellet mind you. I hit the snail and slug with container. Nighty night. From Marmite with torch in hand.

Hi Eddie,

Don't worry about reputation points!!!

Every new member starts off with 10 reputation points and you have received another reputation point from Susie for your post in this thread:-

Greenhouse assembled!!!

In your UserCP there should be a green header across the page which says Latest Reputation Received. At the right hand side of this there is a small circle with two arrows in. Click on this circle and this should open up your reputation comments received for you to read.

I hope this helps!

WWW.Marmitesbadjokes.com?????????????? However, the page is empty??
Keep up the good work, cheers Stupo,

Right okay folks, after a bit of searching I've discovered that I can see alot more info when a member leaves a reputation point and a comment. Members do not know which member has left them a reputation point (but I do) and presumably this is to stop members feeling that they must reciprocate by giving a reputation point in return.

The idea of the reputation points is if you read a cracking post that really helps you, then you can give a reputation point and leave a comment by left clicking on the scales symbol which is at the top of every post on the right hand side.

Now, the UserCP. This is located on the far left on the green navigation bar at the top of the forum directly under the Vegetable-Gardening Forum header. Click on this and this is where you can change your email address, password, signature etc. It looks like this:-

As you can see there are green bars going across the centre. The top green bar is the header for new private messages that haven't been opened yet. If you don't have any new private messages unopened then that green header will not be displayed. The next green bar is the header for new subscribed threads. The bottom green bar is the header for the latest reputation received. This green header will only be displayed if you have received any reputation points from the members. On the right hand side of each green header there is a circle with two arrows in. Clicking on this opens or collapses that particular section.

But as I said before, don't worry about reputation points - please!! (Yes, it's nice to received them and know that someone appreciated your post. )

Ed you are no thcker than me when it comes to computors. I have had a look at my cp I think and I have an avtar? whatever that is. Where did you find your reppoints then? isn't it just as easy to send a message and say thanks. I prefer that I think it also saves thickies like me wondering what everyone is on about. I was going to put a giggley face here but I don't where they are as I am in edit mode. good luck all.

Unhappy "Points" for "Good Posts"??

Hi Marmite,
You better come and feed me as well? ref; (duck feeding) as i must be "quackers"
Having heard about points for good posts, i went straight to Jewsons, bought the best premium quality, posts, they had, put them all in the garden and so far Not 1 of them has any points on it?????
As you are the expert "Night Hunter" ref; Slug watch, perhaps you could help me find 1 of these "Point Posters" ???? They appear to be very elusive???? Only One person i have heard of, has ever seen them.

So any "Points" on the subject, gratefully recieved,
cheers stupo!!!!

Default Slugs

Slugs and snails can be sent to you through the post if you rearly want them.. I find the slugs are trying to carry away the slug bait container to their lair.Just by the new salad plants I put in on Tuesday. The post you got from Jewsons did you put them in the right way up. I laid turf once and all I could hear was green side up. My friend (yes I do have one (only one) used to say dont take afence take the gate as well. Do you need a gate? Regards from Marmite. Its about time for my medication.

Default Slug Watch

Slug Watch. What a good idea for a tv program Bill Oddie, Kate Humble, sponsored by slug pellet makers. Like your idea just off to phone the BBC, Sky or ITV. It would not be a fast program but viewers could catch up.From Marmite.

Unhappy "Medication"

Hello Again, "My Mate"
Your right, i put the posts in wrong way????? no wonder no points???? I blame this mistake on my "Medication" ??????
Three Large Measures of "Famous Grouse" before attempting manual labour of any kind?????
Regarding the "Slug Hunt",,,,,, Apparently a certain person, has already filmed the series,,,,,,,, "The Life of Slugs" The series runs for an amazing 1,532 episodes, however, the sponsers, ("Slugpell.com) are quoted as saying, "things are a little slow in the current climate) but we do hope people will live long enough to see the series to the end?????????
More medication req??? regards stupo

Thanks for the reply folks. Reputation points are now as clear as mud to me (Lesley, seriously your comments have been a great help).

Lez - your avatar is the little picture you can put next to your user name (see my little cat).

To everyone else - posts, slugs & snails and medication - I want some of whatever it is you'r having

P.S. Sorry for any late replys, I've been to the sea-side for the week-end.

Regards
Eddie

I do like to be beside the seaside. Did you bring any seaweed (there is a joke there if you look) back for the garden compost. As for the medication you have to be certified by 2 doctors first..Regards from Marmite.Wishing everybody a briliant week. (Put in stronger light bulbs---get it)
