Default need your opinion | gardening equipment

Hi Folks,

i just registered because i have a little question. Hopefully i am in the right category for that kind of post, didn“t find anything more fitting. I am a passionate gardener and i have a question concerning the equipment you use, especially the gloves. I used to get gloves from a DIY store but i had to pay around 12£. In my opinion thats too much, especially when you have a look at the offers you can find at google. I found two things that could be interesting for me.

1. Work Gloves by engelbert strauss UK

2. Premium Leather Gardening Gloves (medium) | | Gardening Equipment & Tools | Keen Gardener

The first is not especially for gardening but they seem to offer a high quality, the second is especially made for gardening. Both work gloves are around 7£ so the prices are not decisive, only the quality.

I“d like to know if anybody made some experiences with these products or furthermore can recommend other ones.

Thanks so far for your support

Pekko

Evening Pekko, and welcome to the site. Visit your nearest Wilkinsons, they do a good range of gloves. Thorn proof ones are only about£3.99. They are what I use and I`m a professional.

i agree with David T also i like to replace my gloves regularly and at there prices they are still good for a few weeks longer if you are only doing gentle stuff i have never tried washing them just throw em away and replace em about every 2 wks or even more if i have worn them for really long periods like you would with socks
i change them every day!!

Hi pekko

Welcome. I must agree with lazydog and DavidT..Wilko's for gardening gloves. Mrs Spud and I get through a few pairs of gloves each season. So, we use the cheaper gloves for general gardening and the thicker, slightly more expensive gloves for heavy duty, thorn protection etc. We usually have two or three pairs on the go at once and, as lazydog says, when a pair wear out just throw them in the bin and buy new.
