mushroom growing kits

I have several large sycamore tree pieces, and am interested in the mushroom plug kits. Has anyone tried them, were you successful ?

The choice seems to be between shittike,oyster or chicken of the woods. I have seen oysters at my local Asda, and was wondering if I could use them to infect my logs with. Has anyone tried this ?
