Hi Shaun,
Not long taken in a stray cat, aaaaarrrrhhhhh
But try a couple of tea bags with that deep heat stuff rubbed into them, hang them where you think the cats enter your garden, if it does not deter them, refer back to post 2 cheers stupo

Suggesting members shoot or kill cats, is NOT acceptable. That is why Reweeds first post has been reported.

David is very kind to animals in his other post he was againts the use of smoke in preventing moles( not sure if it was mole, i dont even know what that animal was), i appreciate that because animals should be taken care of.

maybe Reweed is just going to use the air riffle to scare the cats, not really to kill them..love cats.

Can I please point out that Ben's suggestion was posted as a joke and he didn't actually say what to do with the air rifle - you all jumped to your own conclusions!

Shaun

I too have a cat problem. Been in my house for 2months and had a problem pretty much since I started doing anything with the garden. I had to build uprights on my raised beds to nail netting to because the cats were climbing up there to do their business in between my spinach plants (despite there being nets there - which they pulled down). Since then they've selected my dirt path (which I'm going to gravel) as their loo. Unfortunately the blighters access the garden from all around the border (under hedge and over fence)!!!!

Have heard malt vinegar sprayed at access points as well as Jeyes fluid on fouling spots works although I have so many access points that vinegar hasn't worked for me. Am currently on Scaredy Cat plants (which you have to move around the garden every few days so the cat's convinced the whole garden smells horrible). Don't waste your money on pepper dust. Failing all of that my colleagues have suggested one of the audible deterrents, I'm trying to avoid that for cost reasons but it may work out cheaper than trying everything else with no joy :-/

Hi Shaun, you have absolutely nothing to be sorry about!!! Your thread hasn't angered people at all - so PLEASE don't worry about it!!!

This is a forum where different people contribute to the threads and everyone has their own opinions and thoughts. It would be an extremely boring world if we all had the same opinions and everyone agreed with each other!

BTW, Paul (Stupo) has always called me "The Boss" It's just a joke between friends - and ALL the members of the forum are friends so PLEASE keep posting Shaun!

i have tried blocking up the holes under the fence, but now they just climb over it i have cleaned the area and put down disinfectant that seems to stop them for a couple of days then they come back. theres about 3 diffeerent cats so they must just like my garden.

No, I jumped to my own conclusion, and I apologise for that. BUT, there is NOTHING in that post to suggest it was a joke. The implication is that people should use a weapon to control the pets belonging to other people.

Do you know what emoticons are? People use them to show their emotions when posting. For example, if you are having a laugh or a joke you use . If you are being sarcastic or cynical you use . When you are being serious, you use nothing, and I still think you were being serious.
