Hi Tim,
Had a couple of drag issues in the past, but cant remember a drop in connection with the site until today.
I got the message, could not connect to page requested, having just hit the reply to thread, button, to submit a reply to your question,it dragged its heels for 2 mins before the above.
I clear my "Cookies" regular(every session) and still get a bit of drag.
I think some of the problem is caused by the volume of traffic that runs through the site.
What operating system/ service pack are you running, & what is your web browser preference????
Do you connect via a wireless connection????
I take it that None of the rest here are having problems

"Anyone Else"??????? cheers stupo

I'm sorry if anyone does experience any problems when using the forum.

As Paul quite rightly pointed out there is alot of traffic on the forum but both the website and the forum are hosted on a very good dedicated server.

We are just "Us" and we don't have the backing of a major magazine or a garden product manufacturer. We don't plaster the forum with adverts (unlike so many other sites), we don't do affiliates (unlike so many other sites) and we don't beg for donations.

Personally, on any site that I visit, I find a difference between my laptops - one works far quicker than the other - and the desk top. I also think that wi-fi makes a difference, the signal strength, if you are in a hot spot, if your ISP is good - they all contribute.

If any problems persist please do let me know. I want everyone to enjoy using the forum!

lesley...please dont apologize, none is necessary!! the forum is a second home and a few connection errors doesnt bother me, i just wanted to mention it

its often when im using the site (sometimes when i load it up) and i get the connection error, i simply press home (which is google) and it goes instantly there, then go to facebook for instance and get straight there ruling out problems with my internet...

stupo im using vista with the IE 8 i think on a 3 year old laptop (i forget the spec but its ok) and no wireless conection. Im fairly sure its not my connection as i said above so ill put it down to volume. i simply go back to the garden for half hour or so then re-try.

i hope this post didnt look like a critisism i was just seeing if anyone else had trouble and thought its something you may want to know

Hi Tim,
I use vista as well,(ultimate x64 Edition) also with IE8.
I have had a couple of issues with this platform & since i upgraded to IE8 from 7.
Looks like we can put the problems down to the sheer amount of traffic that visits the site????
Its to be expected, Afterall, we are the "Carlsberg Forum"

The "Boss" says that the server is ok,
I think it is a bit "Sluggish", myself
I bet she has been at it with those "Secateurs" of hers

Thanks for the feedback, cheers stupo
