Default Greenhouse assembled!!!

Hi everyone - the greenhouse is now up and ready to go!!!! Just wanted a bit of advice on a couple of things......... it's 8' by 6' first of all........ I definitely want to grow tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and courgettes - in this size greenhouse, how many would you plant of each??? and are there any of these things that shouldn't be grown side by side??? Thanks in advance for your advice!!!

Hi Susie

My greenhouse is also 8' x 6'. Last year I grew Tomatoes and mini cucumbers and will be doing the same this year. I find I can get 2 grow bags on the ground containing 3 tomato plants in each on one side of the greenhouse. I put one growbag, on staging, on the other side containing 3 cucumber plants. This leaves space for other stuff but mine is generally taken up with seed trays , or pots, of various flowers.
It gets a bit cramped as the season progresses but is well worth it.

Anyway, the best of luck with your crops.

Regards
Eddie Spud

Hello Susie. And dont forget the chair so you can sit and drink your cup of tea while looking at your plants growing. And a place to sit in the rain to read the garden books. Also an alarm clock so you don't doze for too long and forget to do what you were soposed to do Enjoy. Wishing I had room for a real green house. Marmite

Thanks for replies!!! I am soooooo excited!!! Have put a load of trays of stuff in there today that I started in the house in propagators - just need to sort out tomatoes and cucumbers etc!!! - I also though about a chair but don't reckon there will be much room left by the time i've finished!!! I'm hoping and praying for a good summer though so that I can sit just outside the door and talk to my new found friends!!! Will have to see if there's any way of putting pictures on this forum!!!???? Once there was more room in the house, of course I had to start of some more seeds!!! Even hubby is beginning to show an interest!!! and of course it's great for the kids because they get to see things growing and learn about where their food comes from!!! Will keep you all posted with my progress - but in the meantime - any more tips are MORE than welcome!!!

The trouble with flycatchers is they don`t differentiate between whitefly and Hoverfly.
