Default My new polytunnel is wrecked!!!

Hi guys and gals - bad news - my new poly tunnel has been had by the wind and rain today and the fixings are all broken I've had it a week and had it full of stuff and then we went out for dinner tonight and came back to a completely messed up tunnel!!! I know it was a very cheap one but we only bought it as a 'stop gap' for this year until we decide what type of thing we want to go for in the future!!! - needless to say it's wrecked now and so we need to think of a plan B !!!! Luckily we've stashed everything in the greenhouse for tonight but going to have to sort something out tomorrow because there isn't a spare square inch in the greenhouse now!!! Damn weather!!!! I've tried sooooo hard this year too!!! Never mind - i'm sure we'll managed to find a home for the plants that were in there?? - by the way - soaking wet too from trying to rescue the plants!!! off to get dry now!!!

Oh Susie, what a terrible thing to come home to
I've got a poly tunnel too, which I bought off Ebay, but haven't got the room to put it up until autumn or probably spring! when the worst of the weather is past. I hope you can salvage something from this mess and find the room for your plants

Ian

Oh Sue - glad you got it sorted! We work so hard on our plants......it's such a shame when something like that which is out of your control, happens. Being 'homebuilt' now though it will probably last forever.....hope the plants appreciate it and pay you back well

sorry to hear of your dreadful situation. another thread said they had bought a stop gap one aswell. now yours has been reinforced it may last a lifetime. it is worth waiting and buying the better quality as a mate of mine had his trashed by wind and can't recover it. I know the excitement and enjoyment gained from this love of gardenong cannot be surpassed and (me included) try anything to to help our hobby along. I have made some very good and expensive goofs in my time and the funny thing is I never seem to learn. but thats half the fun. good luck with your next experiment and good luck to all.

It's still standing!!!! - we've had even more wind and rain but it's still upright which is amazing!!! The plan is to 'just get by' this year and then have a really serious think as to what our needs are ready for next year. I have to say though - well done to hubby for an amazing 'salvage' job!!!!
