Smile plastic greenhouses ??

greetings forum

im thinking of getting a plastic greenhouse,so i can expand my growing potential, but im a little concerned about there durability !!

ideally i would love a glass greenhouse and who knows in the future i may get one,but as finances are tight a plastic one would be fantastic right now.

now if i buy one i want to buy one that is almost the same size as a "glass" greenhouse give or take a foot or so,so i have plenty of room for seeds and more established veg/herbs with in the same area...but im worried about there durability through our un predictable british weather.......mainly high winds etc etc,iv looked at a few and even some tickle my fancy and some are at 1st glance reasonably priced.

can you secure them to the ground in some way,.or are they a right royal pain in the behind in bad weather or are they more sturdy than the world recession lol

i would love to here from those of you who have plastic greenhouses no matter how big or small they are, size doesnt matter so im constantly told

are they worth the money ?

im gonna post an e-bay link of something that looks the part for a reasonable price....admin sorry if iv broken any rules it wont happen again if given a slight nudge lol

o incedently if any of you guys have found better deals/better products i obviously would love to hear about them,my link was just a guide line to what im after

fankin you muchly lol

I have 2 small'ish mini greenhouses, they do the job with limited space/funds. you have to secure them very well, fix them to a wall if possible, they fall over when you get more than a gentle breeze. Getting plenty of tomatoes, the peppers are doing well and my seedlings did really well in there.

I have one of the mini ones as well. They're certainly better than nothing and are useful for growing on seedlings. They do tend to blow over though and I wouldn't like to leave one outside in a real storm. You can move them around without dismantling them if you're careful.

I've now taken the plastic cover off and am using the frame to grow some toms around.

Smile

hi guys

thanks for your replies, well i am now the proud owner of a small plastic greenhouse..only cost 15 quid when one almost identical in argos was 30.

it is against the house and my side wall with just enough room so it fits snuggly between the wall and my kitchen window sill, even if there was a big storm it will not be budged....brilliant

anyway i dug up my coriander plants ouf of the outside bed and re potted them into the greenhouse as they were starting to look very limp with all the rain gloucestershire is having at the mo,i looked at them this morning and there looking a little happier....

now i have brought some thyme basil & parsley and will germinate them sunday, when i have brought some smaller pots and compost....lol im starting to feel like i live in wilkinsons

anyway have a nice weekend guys

Nik
