Question Greenhouse

I change the compost in my greenhouse every 3rd year. Is that about right? What is the best soil to use? I normaly use peat. I grow tomatos and peppers.
To everyone have a great Christmas and New Year

You shouldn`t grow tomatoes in the same soil 2 years running unless you steralise the soil/compost. I would suggest growing in new growbags each year.

Default Greenhouse

Thanks you for that.

I grow my toms & peppers staight from seed as I find that I get tastier fruit. It just seems that I am a bit hit and miss especialy with the peppers ripening. When would you sugest plannting the seeds. The greenhouse is not heated.

I much prefer starting seeds without heat, it makes stronger, sturdier plants. But the greenhouse must be frost free and the trays/pots should be covered with propagator lids.

Hi. Do you do the same as me and buy fruit and after trying it grow from the seeds? If so when do you plant the seeds?

Can`t say I`ve done that. As a general rule, you should be able to sow more exotic seeds at any time, as long as you can give them enough warmth and light.
