I am thinking of using a heat sink sunk into the soil of my greenhouse, basically a plastic bin filled with broken glass. With a pipe runing into it from the top of the greenhouse roof with a fan to draw the hot air down into the heat sink during the day. Then at night the heat would escape and keep the temperature higher. I first saw this idea on tv a few years ago.
Has any one tried this and did it work? Thanks Simon |

I have not seen this, but it is an interesting idea. I'm thinking that you are trying to be cost effective as possible. You can look for some heating lamps that might be fairly cheap online that would be more effective. If you have a picture or diagram of what this would look like, I would love to see it! You might even try to encompass some humidifier parts to control the humidity to keep the plants at the right temperature.
