Default Heating

Hi all i have a metal framed greenhouse with sheets of plastic as the windows. The beads for holding the plastic in are rubbish and dont hold it. I have 3 sheets of plastic needing replaced and was wondering if there was anything i could use that would hold the beads in better. and was also wondering if there was anything i could use in my parasene heater instead of parafin as its £8 for a gallon in b&q now. any advice please ?

Andrew

Hi Andrew, if it's a metal framed greenhouse couldn't you replace the plastic with glass??

My OH works in a double glazing factory so I'm really fortunate to get a hefty discount on horticultural glass - it's a pity you don't live in our area.

By plastic I`m assuming you mean polycarbonate? This is better at heat retention than glass. What you could do.is silicone the sheets in. Not only would this help draught-proof the greenhouse but also strengthen it.
