Hi Mugins. I'm assuming (yes, I know what happens when one assumes
) you're interested in growing things you can eat during the winter. How about radishes and peas? They both are cooler season vegs. I agree with Shetty that lettice would be a good choice too. I don't know how warm you keep the green house but there are even some shotrer season bush type and cheery tomatoes that may be worth an experiment if you've got the room. I must admit that I don't have a greenhouse but these are things I'd try if I did. Please keep us updated on how things go over the winter. I'd like to hear of your progress. Oh, and I was wondering what that faint wiff of smoke I smelled was and where it was coming from.![]() ![]() ![]() |

In addition to lettuce and salad greens I really like growing Swiss Chard and Beet Greens in the cool weather. Swiss Chard even does great in the summer. Today it was 95 degrees and the Swiss Chard is growing like mad. I do shade the greenhouse when the temperature gets above eighty or so.
