Default Cleaning greenhouses.

My greenhouse is 7 months old now and could do with the outside cleaning, i read in Terry Waltons book that he has always used half bleach half hot water when scrubbing the glass.

Has anybody else got any other suggestions for cleaning recipes or shall i go with that..?

My outside is a bit sticky and sooty mouldy from my plum tree (don't get me started on ancient plum trees)!

Hi seaspud,
I've recently got myself a 2nd hand greenhouse (which is still waiting to be put together!) and I was advised to use Jeyes Fluid. And depending on your sense of smell, you'll either love it or hate it!!! (Oh you can't use smilies on the quick reply thing!)

BTW, would that be the Hillside Allotment book? I'm halfway through it ATM.... good isn't it?

I always wash the outside of my greenhouse with warm soapy water and then hose it until its clear. I do the same with the inside but after rinsing it i mix up some steralising tablets in water and wash again to get rid of the germs. I also do this with the staging and use a mixture of water and Jayes Fluid to wash the pots and seed trays.

Use Jeyes fluid and lots of hot water then rinse with vinegar added to the water, for a sparkling finsh!
