We finally found something exactly the right size for where we need to put it.
In case anyone is interested, I thought I'd show you some pics, we're quite impressed. £40 inc postage. Note that we have no connection to the company that makes or sells these, I'm just posting this here as I've not come across any threads about this product, and it does appear to be well built.
It's 2 meters long, 80 cms deep and 1.65 meters high at the highest point.
Comes in a small box:
Fibreglass poles strung together with elastic and a pack of screws and plugs, tent pegs and cord:
Ideally needs two people to put together. If you know how to put tents up, it's straightforward, but still a tight fit for the poles especially as one has to bend them into the arc of the Culti-Cave:
You then have to fit the small poles as cross braces.
It's all double stitched and it has a 360 degree zip so the front and back doors can zip off completely. There's lots of tie downs, both outside and inside, which is handy for tying tresses up etc. The plastic itself is UV balanced or whatever, which means it won't break down, and it does appear quite strong.
You also get a net door which can zip in place of the plastic door for hot days and sticky nights:
And that's about it, here's the finished item:
As you can see, it fits perfectly in the space we have available. Nice action shot of Darcy the dog!
In order to get the base stretched out properly, and the whole thing evenly balanced we filled it with water. Gonna let it rest overnight then tomorrow we'll fix it to the wall and, seeing as the concrete is angled, we'll put in some eyelets in the base of the Culti-Cave at the lowest points for easy drainage.
We've never grown veg before, so it'll be interesting to see how we're going to get on with it all. In the Culti-Cave we're going to have Tomatoes, Courgettes, Aubergines, Sweet Peppers, Mangetout, and, somehow or other, watermelons!
Me thinks it's gonna get quite busy in there!
Ali.
