Default £330

I can get a "proper" 4'x4' Greenhouse for £330. Does anyone know where I can get one cheaper? If not I'll go with that one. It's got to be that size, 'cause I've only got a witchy space to put it in. Modern gardens

Had you thought of making one yourself???
Old doubleglazed patio doors are 4 ft wide- maybe you could get some old ones which have been replaced for free from a double glazing company??
You'd need to be able to fit a frame around them and create a roof and opening window and door, but if you are good at DIY you could easily make one that size for next to nothing.
Personally I'd buy one!!!!

If you don't fancy Nicos's idea of DIY here is another one priced £283.

Thanks for the advice and links, guys but it has to be exactly 4X4, no odd inches.
I'm about as good as D.I.Y. as I am on a computer, so I think it'll have to be a bought one.

Greenhouses generally are not cheap. You can get cheap second hand ones but there is not much chance that it will be the right size for you.

I don't think £330 is to bad and if it's the one you want I would go for it

The second link is a 4' x 4' size Cajary. The writing is talking about a slightly bigger one but the price is for a 4' x 4'. Phone them and ask.

The crazy thing is that you can get a 4' x 6' one for £209. You would think a smaller one would be cheaper.

Thanks, again guys. I'll do it when I get back. Off to Turkey for a couple of weeks tomorrow. Just got their 5 day forecast and it's HOT.
I promise you I'll think of you when I see a Brugmansia(they grow 15' high out there- no frosts) and when I pick a pomegranate off a tree and eat it!!

Hi, the lovely Lesley. Yeah, they don't seem to get much higher than that. They just seem to just spread out a bit. When they get too big the guys out there just hack them back. (You know I'm crying, when I say that, don't you)
About another plant, Mehmet has promised me I can take a few cuttings of his "Queen of the Night". ("Cestrum Nocturnum" if anyone from uk.exotics is looking). If I can strike them I'll be happy to spread them about a bit.

Default £330

Hi Cajary,

I built mine from old timber and old double glazing, as most of the people do on my allotment. As long as you make sure the timber is in good nick and the windows are screwed in properly and you do good footings, it will be dirt cheap and very safe to use. Mine cost me £20 for the nails and part of the roof !!! It's about 8 feet long, 5 foot wide and 6 foot 6 inches high. I also have the possibility to make it longer if I need to. It also took 1 and 1 and 1/2 hours to complete the frame and about the same to put in the windows. The materials took about a month or so to get. As it's winter, you will have loads of time to collect the materials and construct it ready for next year.

Hope that helps !!
