In order to keep the air moving in the Culti-Cave when the door is almost closed, we came up with a very cheap but brilliant idea.

We bought a couple of 12 inch PC fans and wired them to a 12Volt DC plug top power supply mains adapter, we've got a few lying around from old equipment, so the only cost was the fans. We even had some bell wire lying around which we've used to wire it up with. It's a 2 amp power supply, and each fan takes about .25 of an amp, so there's power enough for four, but we found just two was enough to create a good airflow (actually, one is enough, but we've put one each side).

Ali.

Hi Alison Kristina,
Like the idea - believe those fans shift a lot of air. Would be good where I am in Western Australia in winter (0 - 15 deg C) when air movement is still reqired but don't want to open up big vents. Like the idea that parts are easy to get and inexpensive to run.

Default solar powered

I know its an old thread but I found this interesting.
PC fans are two a penny.

I didnt have a battery floating around though so I found this solar panel for a tenner.

I think most fans are 12v and 3.5w so the 5w rating of the panel should be fine.

Seems to my untrained eye that even if it runs slower on a cloudy day this system should be a good way to suck air out of one end. Hopefully this will reduce mouldy soggy pots!
