Hi, everyone,
Everything's pretty rosy in my punnel (polytunnel), with the big exception of my brassicas. They are being decimated by caterpillars particularly cabbage whites.I Leave the doors open fur ventilation in day to stop the temperature rocketing, and they go. Picking them off is a losing battle. So can anyone recommend a fly screen of some sort, failing which, at worst a chemical treatment. Many thanks everyone. ![]() |

Hi Moorlander
I had exactly the same problem - however I overcame it by fitting netting with 7mm spacing, over both doors openings (like a fly screen). The holes are big enough to let in the pollinating insects, and small enough to keep the dreaded butterflies out. Hope this helps Bobby |

I know its a bit late now as its October and the weather will solve your problem but for next year use a pyrethrum based spray. It works everytime and is totally natural. It an extract of Chrysanthamums. I had the same problem.
