Default step by step building an incubator tutorial 1

hope this is the right place to post this

ok this is a tutorial on building and incubator with what you have around

i am using a pet carrier as i have one here so other than a box here is what you need

1. a 60 watt light bulb
2. a light fitting
3. a dimmer switch
4 tin foil
5. a pot for water
optional extra fan and an old pc power unit

photos of the steps will be posted in this topic

the pet carrier

STEP 1 INSULATING THE TOP OF THE BOX
do this with your tin foil make sure you leave a hole at the back this is for a vent

STEP 2 INSTALL A FAN TO TOP

now place fan were you want it and drill 4 holes then with garden wire tie in place

good idea but unfortunatly this is not an incubator it is a brood box an incubator is used to hatch eggs which requires a means of turning eggs and a water supply for humidity what you have made is the box to bring the chicks on in warmth and realy that size box is only good for 3 or 4 chicks for about 2 weeks and then they will be to big and the heat you have there might be to much they dont need a lot.
but a good design and well made, well done.
