Default Herb plot

Hi I planted a herb garden when we moved here in feb didn't plant them till march planted sage, thyme, and rosemary and they are coming along nice. My sage is so big now I have to move it to another place going to sort that out today with hubbies help. He said he was going to do that today if weather was nice. Going to buy seeds or plants for chives, to plant. Later in the spring i planted mint that I also going to move and dill, parsley and coriander. Due to the soil here we had to make raised beds because it is solid clay and it is like digging concrete when it is dry or it is a mud bath when it is wet. So hubby bought me some wood and some top soil and made raised flowwer, veg and herb beds.

My thyme is now blooming and looks really nice and I am looking forward to harvesting it this autumn for the winter months. Some of the chives I planted have come up but had sown it too close to my sage so it don't get soo much sun hence I have to move them when hubby get me a new herb bed.

We live in a row of bungalows where people often come when they retire so they don't do much gardening nad the woman before hadn't and much have lived here for many years becaus soil wasn't worked at all. So it is like working on a virgin plot. Hard work but fun. We have friends where we can get firlilizer for free farmer we know that has it in a field.

Cheers

CC

Hi CC, it sounds like you have a really nice herb garden with a great selection of herbs to use. Have you planted the mint in a container or is it planted in the raised herb bed? Mint spreads like mad and eventually will take over the bed so it's best to contain the roots in a pot.

Moved all the herbs not to a new place and it is looking nice going to take some pictures later today when it warms up. They had a good soak last night in the thunderstorm. I put the mint in a container and gave some to a neighbour. All my herbs are doing well. Mum tought me well at growing as a child
