Default cats and herbs

How can I stop my cat from attack my indoor herb plants e.g. is there a herb that I can grow with my common herbs that the cat won't like the smell of, that will keep him away from the rest of them. He seems to wait until they are nearly fully grown then chew the lot. This has frustrated me to the point of giving up on growing herbs at all this year.

What you need to grow is " Coleus canina ". That will put the cat off.

Maybe you could try growing catnip or cat grass so he has something else to munch on instead of getting through your herbs.

My mum once had a catnip plant on her kitchen that she had just been given. The next morning she awoke to a cat party. Four strange cats in her kitchen and the remains of what was a catnip plant.

I'll take 30 meters of that, thanks David!
No, seriously, I'll try that next year - that cat is driving me insane. It throws itself of the carrots, onions, leeks, so they break.

That's funny "Get out of here, or else... I'll pretend I'm sleeping while you scratch the window" (ALL. NIGHT. LONG.)!

Also if you have some old tennis raquets that are made of cat gut(before they went nylon)then place them in a stretegic position in the garden.

I have 3 cats and they've totally destroyed my Chilli plants. I think they do it for attention, and like kids attention is attention, good or bad! The herbs i have outside seem to be fine, they don't bother with them but i think i may give the Coleus Canina a go, can't hurt can it!

My cat just loves eating herbs, I have tried growing cat grass and putting that next to them in the windowsill but he just goes straight for the herbs, annoyingly he lulls me into thinking he won't eat them by allowing them to grow to 3-4 inches high before eating them!

Maybe you have a health conscious cat My cat only likes the catnip and just sleeps between the other herbs.

Hi Golden14, Ive posted on something similar before. Here's a great tip. Cut up some lemons and squeeze them out. Spread the peel out around your plants or bed that you want to keep the cat away from. They absolutely hate citrus and will keep away. The majority of people who Ive suggested this to have had positive results so its worth a shot!

You need to protect your indoor vegetable gardening hub plants form your pets.Use a powder that contains a scent and spread it around the area where you're having cat problems.Even you can set electronic device which producing high-pitched noise frightening the cats.
