Question Rocca with leaf miner

Hello,

I have a 4 x 4 square food garden. I have planted Rocca in one section, and after nearly full grown I started to see leaf miners on the leaves. So I just harvested all the rocca leaves before infestation spreads, and had them in my salad.

While eating I realized that I might have eaten some leaves with miners.

Did not feel any taste difference .. but what about health effect

Anyone was in same situation?

thanks

Good evening and welcome to the site. Are you sure it`s leaf miner and not a bit of scorch? Where are you situated? I doubt if it would hurt you anyway.

Thanks for the welcome.. I would have really wanted to start my membership with another question .. but when it comes to health

Well yes I'm sure it's a leaf mine, since i could see it on one of leaf trails with black dots behind it.

But since it's some additional protein for my diet with no side effects .. I will not think a lot about what happened

Regards

Don't worry! It's no worse than eating pea maggots in mange tout without realising!

Or not being able to fish quite all of the small cabbage white, green caterpillars out of the cauliflower curds - a covering of cheese sauce and no one knows!!!

No honestly, I just couldn't cook the cauliflower!! (It was the first year I grew cauliflowers.)

Lumpy cheese sauce. Just like lumpy gravy really, only whitish instead of brown. Oh, and a bit more wriggly.

The only time an issue would arise is if you were a strict Vegan.... Wonder what deep fries leaf miner would be like?... Spicy salted catterpillar anyone???
