Blimey Hollie - you must be remembeing EVERYthing!!!!!

We have a little gardening 'club' at work so we're all sharing knowledge. Think some are amazed at how much I've managed to plant out in the space of 2months!

Oh wow - that sounds nice, a little gardening club! I want to be in it!

I was made redundant last year, worked in a fab office with lovely people who would have wanted to do something like a seed/plant sharing club and things. I now work for some meanies

Think my colleagues are mostly meanies but there are a few good bods about. Turns out that most of them either grow veg or have done in the past! . Gardening club is a bit unofficial but we share tips on growing, help solve each others plant problems and share seeds / plants. Breaks up the day when you're spending 10hrs in front of a PC!

That'd be cool! Will gauge opinion :-). Just sent a courgette plant to a colleague in another office via my manager - I like sharing my new hobby!

You know you're a gardener when... you look out your bedroom window at night, just to "check" on the veg patch... like it's going to go somewhere! tee hee!

I have a landing half way up the stairs and the window overlooks the raised beds. I stop and look out on the veg everytime I go past, day or night, even if it's just been a couple minutes since I last looked! Makes ya feel proud doesn't it?!

Hi Kimby,
You certainly have the "Bug" now
However, you did not mention what you had on the windowsill (if there is one of course)
If yes, A small "Chilli Plant" perhaps?? there are a couple of varieties that can be kept quite happily indoors, Bushy Types, prairie fire being 1, they are spectacular looking when the fruits start to appear and ripen, changing colours, and a good supply of fairly hot chillies up to a hundred or even 2 depending on the plant size.
Of course if there is no windowsill,,,,, then forget all my "Blabbering"
cheers stupo.

To be honest Stu I'd never thought of bringing anything indoors! Chillis are in the greenhouse at the moment but if it looks like I need more space then they could come inside I guess

Nice thread :-)
I can tell you my thoughts then...
I realised I got the bug when I saw myself wander on all fours on the balcony first thing in the morning, still my pyjamas, to check the aphids everywhere on my plants. I do this all the time, nevermind what the neighbours think!
Also when I moved into my flat in March, I spent all my spare time sowing and preparing the balcony for pots and plants - that was time-critical! It's now the only part of my flat which is properly furnished :-)

You know you're a gardener when..........

.........you're house looks like a bombsight, but your allotments are completely tidy!

.........you're seed store is bigger than you're shoe cupboard!

.........you're wardrobe has more 'gardening clothes' than going out clothes in it!

.........if you arent in the garden (allotment) doing something, then you are on the internet in a garden related forum!

........you've more pictures of your crops than you have of your family!

You know you're a gardener when:

- You go out to get a few more seedling pots and come back with a propagator, 30 seedling pots and some larger pots and later go back to pick up that seed trough you'd dithered over so you can have all your lettuces lined up like a salad tray...

- You started the week with a few tomato plants and a broad bean and by the end of the week are housing seedlings of 12 more plant types

- You started a gardening blog, and spent the majority of your day adding stuff to it, before spending the remainder of your time planting, reading other gardening blogs and forums

- You photographed all your seeds and their packets artistically for your gardening blog, so you have a seed database, just in case anyone wanted to know...

You know when you're a garden when:

You spend all weekend in the kitchen making preserves and chutneys out of the masses of cucumbers, courgettes, etc from your garden and your kitchen cupboards are laden with jars upon jars of stuff you have made.

You can't wait to get home to check out what else you can spy growing in the greenhouse and how much more your veg has grown.

The money you normally spend on clothes and shoes is being saved to buy a greenhouse the following year (after out polytunnel blew away in the wind, we did manage to salvage it thankfully).
