Default Harvest & Garden

Just wanted to show this morning's harvest and how my plot is progressing. There are cabbage, egg plant, cucs, and the first tom and pepper. Oh, and the house you see is the neighbor. A very "interesting" little old man. Attachment 557

Thanks all. Lesley I can't remember what the eggplants are. I got them at one of the greenhouses we go to but when I got home the tag that tells the name had fallen out. I do remember they're a Japanese variety with very thin skin and they're great on the grill. You're right about the produce tasting good but most of what was pictured went to relatives who don't have gardens. Oh and the flowers are mine, I planted them at various places in the garden to attract pollinators which they're doing very well, and because I like zinnias.

Just a few pics of melons, heirloom tomatoes, bell & ancho peppers. We had a really bad wind/rain storm a couple of nights ago and the toms got tossed around a bit but they'll be ok, already starting to to come back up.Attachment 612

It looks like a harvest, isn't it? I believe you must put a lot of effort into it. Well done!

Just wanted to show what I picked out of the garden yesterday (Tues) I picked the same amount of toms Sun. I'm picking them a bit green because it seems alot of folks in this part of the country are having trouble with cracking. Had to through in a watermelon pic too. I picked one Sat. but it was 2 weeks too soon. I cut the center out of it and it still tasted better than the ones we get at the store. There's also a pic of a swan gourd, but this swan looks like its had its neck stretched.Attachment 718

Oh...Husker....all those fabulous tomatoes - I'm really jealous!!! Do you eat the swan gourdes? Might sound like a daft question but over here most gourdes are grown for decoration.

I have tomato envy! I can't wait for mine to ripen. Though it might be a while cos there is not much sun over here at the moment.

Thanks for the kind praise Yes Lesley those are ornimental gourds. I've also got "Big Apple", bird house and the small assortment type. I'll try to get some better pics when they get a little bigger. Oh, and there are no daft questions. Hi Mags, we've had alot of sun the past 10 days or so and the toms have really come on fast but last night we had about an inch of rain that we really needed and it's cloudy today so that will slow them down a bit.
