theres always boiling water, i know its a necessary thing killing the nest but its also sad, such work and beauty. there is a method of moving the nest without killing it, but i wouldnt do it i dont think. something along the lines of waiting for dark, then putting a jumper or blanket over the top and moving the nest someplace else. im not sure if its just for the hanging nests tho as some are so attached so much that to remove them would rip the nest in half.

We had a wasp nest in our compost bin a few years ago. It certainly makes it tricky to put the compost in the bin! I read that the compost it to dry (a bit like when you have ants in a bin) So every night we would throw a couple of buckets of water on. They soon left. Be careful not to get stung!

I am currently dowsing my compost with a hose pipe as I have read that the damp deters them, No luck yet though after two days!!!
"WHEN you get stung, put vinegar on it, takes the sting away instantly and stops the swelling, need to hold it on the sting though. |

It took longer then 2 days to get rid of the wasps. It took us around 7 - 10 days - with us pouring buckets of water into the compost bin and running away as fast as we could. Then the compost was well soaked and they left.
