Default Red Pepper - Pot Size

What is the ideal size of pot to grow Red Peppers in?

I have 2 plants in a large pot (think it's 10 - 12 inches) and they're doing just fine :-) Not sure if it's ideal but they've certainly done well in that space (although they've definitely filled it and you wouldn't want more than 2 plants in there).
