Aubergine problem

Hi, I have a small aubergine plant in a container in my garden which seems to be doing well. I have a tiny aubergine growing but there appears to be a round hole above the bud?? Is something eating my aubergine???

you can see the hole in the baby aubergine -do you think its a caterpillar??????

Looks to me like a slug hole. Slugs do like to eat everything!

Yes - including strawberries. The hole in the picture looks exactly like the holes in my strawberries, made by slugs.
