Hi Mugins, you are probably better buying them online but you might need to search a few sites if you only need a small amount. The other problem might be that the seed potatoes are pre-ordered and sent out in July so alot will be sold out. Here's a few links for you:-

Seed Potato Catalogue - Autumn and Christmas Potatoes

Suttons, Seed Potatoes, Autumn Potato Growing Kit, Bargain Patio Potato Growing Kit

Potato : Christmas (Onions, Garlic and Potatoes)

The Potato Board's site offers a collection of potato recipes, history, nutrition, and other information about potatoes.

We planted our Winter harvest spuds a week or so ago, we had to visit 4 garden centres before we found any.

We were going to go with the kits from Suttons, seems like a good price, but we already had compost and suitable containeres, so just bought the seed potatoes from the garden centre. These started breaking through the soil on the other day.

New spuds for Yule lunch with a little luck and a lot of help from Mother Nature.
