Default bay tree cuttings

hi, does any one know how to take a cutting from a bay tree. Mine has over grown and i was wondering if i would be able to take cuttings from it or put the over grown stems on the compost heap?????

Yes of course you can. I don't know when the best time is, but perhaps you could do this in the autumn.

When we moved 18 months ago our house had a very over grown bay monster!! It also had a baby - we moved the baby. And my husband cut the bay back quite harsh but it's grown really nicely into a bush.
