Beginner Veg Grower...

Hi all, I'm new to this growing veg lark, but hugely enjoying myself already :-) basically, we bought a house with a very large (40'x150') and I want to grow more! We only moved in June, so I missed the main planting season, but I got lettuce and pumpkins in. Any hints? I want to build raised beds over the winter and am looking at carrots, potatoes and beetroot as well as lettuce and pumpkin again? Have some weird seeds for something called achocha as well, which is apparently heavy fruiting and really easy. Anything else good for a novice?
