Hi Shaun. I don't pick off my toms until I hear there is a danger of frost. You can then let those that will, ripen on the window sill. I just think the longer they stay ripening on the vine the better they taste.

I picked around 10 little cherry toms this morning, but there are still alot more that are green with no sign of turning red! Just like Shaun I was tempted to pick them and ripen on the window sill - but I will just be patient!

I have gardeners' delight, tumbler and supersweet, all mini toms, and they'll stay outside until the first sign of frost. This week is sunny down here, but the nights are 9-10c. They are ripening but there's still a mass of green ones.

The next six to eight weeks should see most ripen and they do best on the vine.
