Not sure what the general thought is on this but I took the plunge and put my first lot out at the weekend! I'm going to space them out over the next month to hedge my bets (growing them in planters, not my plot, so going to wait a couple of weeks until I put the next ones in, then another couple weeks before I put my last ones in).

Same here. In south Yorks, which is a little further North, we've put a few into planters in the greenhouse but are waiting until mid March to sow them in the plot. Then we will be keeping a close eye on the weather and cover with fleece if a frost is forecast once the green shoots are showing.
Last year a late frost caused so much damage because we had nothing to protect the plants with. |

this has inspired me to plant mine, although I live on the Isle of Wight it is not getting much above 4 deg at night. Also finding my potatoes are proving slow to chit
