Hi golden14. I haven't used those planters myself but I've read and heard some info about them that i'd be happy to pass on to you. If you're gowing to try them you want to look for a patio or bush type tom, or possibly a cherry. Bigger tom varieties, as a rule, don't do well. They need to be watered often, especially after the plants start to get some size, and by often I mean everycouple of days. Some folks will water every day. I have yet to hear of anyone harvesting the number of toms anywhere near what the advertiser claims, but folks do get toms. It's kind of like the plant folks on a program I watch from the ag dept. at the University of Nebraska say, the planters a a novelty and you'll get some toms, just not as many or as easy as advertised. If you want go ahead and try them out, I'd be interested in your results, but if you have room I think I'd plant a couple in the garden too. Good luck.
